Entertainment Weekly’s “Best Streaming Shows of 2013”
Thrilled to announce that Acting Disruptive has been named one of Entertainment Weekly’s "best streaming shows of 2013"! We are honored to be listed alongside some pretty incredible shows, including the latest flagship series’ from Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Yahoo!
Max Lugavere is a content creator and media personality hailing from New York City and residing in NYC and LA.
His latest project, Acting Disruptive
on AolOn, a collaboration with Tribeca Enterprises—their first-ever foray into digital content—became AOL's most successful video series launch to date netting over 25 million views, with Citi as a sponsor. Entertainment Weekly called it one of the "best streaming shows of 2013" and Forbes described it as "two parts big ideas, one part late night talk show". Max co-created, produced, and hosted the series, which featured well-known artist-innovators including Olivia Wilde, Jared Leto, Rainn Wilson, Moby, and Russell Simmons. It garnered significant social media traction, due in no small part to Max's influential following.
A self-proclaimed "wonderjunkie" (also the title of his blog), Max often writes on topics of science, psychology, and accelerating technologies. A go-to source of insight in a rapidly changing media landscape, he has appeared on Bloomberg TV, E!, Pivot, HuffPost Live, The Young Turks Network on YouTube, and guests on panels regularly, most recently at SXSW in Austin, TX. He studied improv at UCB in NYC. His work has been featured in Psychology Today where he is a contributor, Variety, Forbes, USA Today, Details, Fast Company, Bullett Magazine, The Huffington Post, and many more.
Lugavere got his start when he landed his own TV show straight out of college, becoming a prominent face of Al Gore's Current TV where he hosted and produced hundreds of hours of content during its most ambitious and Emmy-winning years. He may have even been in a Gap campaign.
